Rides built not for profit.
FairLift transfers ride income to the driver. The only deductions are bank processing fees and what it actually costs to run the technology platform — less than $1 per ride.
Who we are
FairLift is operated by Fair Lift LLC. We build a technology platform for ride-share and food delivery: riders who need a lift, and customers who need food delivered, connect with independent drivers in their community. FairLift is not a taxi company and not a profit-seeking ride-hailing business: ride income is intended for the participating driver, after bank processing fees and a technology cost of less than $1 per ride.
This website, fairlift.net, is the public home of Fair Lift LLC: who we are, what the service does, how we use SMS, and how to contact us.
What FairLift provides
FairLift provides ride-share and food delivery through two companion apps and this website:
- Ride-share. People requesting a ride can create an account, set pickup and destination, match with a nearby driver, follow ride status, and pay for the trip through the platform.
- Food delivery. People ordering food can request delivery, match with a nearby driver, follow order and drop-off status, and pay through the platform. Drivers can accept food-delivery requests, pick up orders, and complete deliveries.
- Rider and driver apps. The FairLift rider app is for people requesting a ride or food delivery. The driver app is for independent drivers who receive those requests, complete trips or deliveries, and receive income after payment-processing fees and the FairLift technology fee.
- This website. Fairlift.net explains the service, collects a driver waitlist, and publishes our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and SMS Terms.
Drivers are independent participants. FairLift provides the software that arranges rides, food deliveries, payments, account security, and related notifications — including transactional text messages when a person has opted in. See a labeled walkthrough of the rider and driver apps: How FairLift is used.
How the apps work
Ride-share and food delivery follow the same steps: request, match, in progress, complete. Open the full walkthrough for every screen, including SMS opt-in and sample trip texts.
Rider sets pickup and destination — a home address for a ride, or a restaurant and drop-off for food delivery.
Nearby drivers receive the request in the driver app (and by SMS if they opted in) and accept.
Pickup, trip or delivery, drop-off, and a receipt. Texts cover confirmations, arrival, and charges.
Launch status
The FairLift rider and driver apps are not currently listed in the Apple App Store or Google Play. App-store submissions are in progress. Licenses and other authorizations that may be required to operate a ride-share or food delivery service are also still in progress and have not been obtained. We do not claim that the apps are live for public download or that required licenses are already in place.
Until launch, this website is how we describe the business and the SMS program we will use for ride, food-delivery, and account texts. Prospective drivers can join the waitlist below to be notified when FairLift is ready.
Where your fare goes
Unlike traditional ride-hailing companies, FairLift does not keep a commission. Ride payments are intended for the participating driver.
of ride income, after the fees below.
Card and payment-provider transaction fees only.
Only what it costs to host, secure, and run FairLift.
Why not-for-profit
FairLift is a technology platform for community ride-share and food delivery — not a taxi company and not a profit-seeking ride-hailing business. There are no investors taking a cut of every trip.
The technology fee recovers real monthly costs (hosting, security, payments infrastructure, and support), capped at $1.00 per ride. When actual cost per ride is lower, the excess is refunded.
How texting fits FairLift operations
Fair Lift LLC sends transactional SMS so riders, food-delivery customers, and drivers can complete a ride or delivery and keep their accounts secure. Texts are operational, not marketing. We do not send promotional offers, advertisements, or third-party ads by SMS.
- Who messages whom. FairLift (Fair Lift LLC) texts people who opted in: riders about their trip, customers about a food delivery, drivers about ride requests, food-delivery requests, and payouts, and either party about account security. Users do not text each other through this program; FairLift sends the messages.
- Why we text. Typical messages include ride and food-delivery confirmations, driver or customer updates, arrival notices, cancellations, order and drop-off status, receipts, payout notices, and one-time verification codes. SMS is used because these events are time-sensitive and happen while someone may not have the app open.
- How you opt in. Consent is collected with an unchecked checkbox on app sign-up, an in-app Text messages switch, the driver waitlist form on this page, or by replying START. Consent is not required to create an account and is not a condition of purchase. Details and screenshots: SMS Opt-In.
- Message frequency. Frequency varies with ride and food-delivery activity — typically 1–6 messages per trip or delivery, plus occasional account or security messages. There is no fixed daily or monthly cap because trips and deliveries are event-driven.
- HELP / STOP. Reply STOP to cancel (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT). Reply HELP (or INFO) for help. Reply START to resubscribe. You can also email support@fairlift.net.
- Message and data rates may apply. Your wireless carrier may charge for texts. See SMS Terms and our Privacy Policy (including how we use mobile numbers). We do not sell mobile numbers or share them with third parties for their marketing.
